The Cumberland County Housing and Redevelopment Authority offers a number of programs for those looking to become homeowners. One of our proudest programs includes a free workshop educating first-time buyers on the home buying process.

Already own a home? The Authority has programs to benefit low and moderate-income households that can assist with needed emergency repairs. Need to update your home to make it easier to get around or more accessible for a wheelchair? The Authority administers several grant programs that address such ADA needs and can help you regain mobility within your home.


The Cumberland County Housing Authority regularly assists seniors and older adults, disabled persons, those with special needs, and homeless persons locate affordable rental housing and has programs available in specific cases to provide financial assistance to meet housing needs.

In Cumberland County, the Authorities manage over 500 units of affordable housing for eligible families, seniors, and individuals who are disabled, and 44 units of senior housing in Perry County. These units are funded through public housing, USDA Rural Development, low-income housing tax credits, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 8 project-based programs.
