Mandatory Participation – All property owners are required to participate in one of these options:
*Option #1 – Full service – Solid Waste Toter Cart, Recycle Toter Cart per week. Cost of this service is $69.25 per quarter. Senior Citizens (over the age of 65) full service is $63.25 (you must contact Southampton Twp and show proof of age to receive the discount).
Bulk item(s) – NONE PROVIDED WITH THIS 5 YEAR CONTRACT.
*Option #2 – Recycle Service – Recycle Toter ONLY, NO solid waste toter or bulk item pickup. Cost of this service is $47.75 per quarter.
*Option #3 – Bag Only Service – Bags ONLY, NO other service. Bags can ONLY be purchased at the Southampton Township, Cumberland County, Municipal Office, 200 Airport Road, Shippensburg, PA at a cost of $7.00 per bag, plus $1.00 per quarter fee.
*Option #4 – Exemption to Trash Service – You must fill out an exemption form for exemption & pay the $10.00 fee. Exemption approvals will only be valid for the term of our contract (beginning July 1, 2026 for a 5-year period). Exemption forms can be requested by contacting South Newton Township or from our website at: www.southnewtontownship.net.

*Landlords/Property Owner(s) – Will be responsible for providing service to their tenants/properties and notify Southampton Township, Cumberland County when tenant is started or stopped from rental unit. Landlord is responsible for contacting Southampton Township, Cumberland County, of any and all changes. Collection of trash fees will be the responsibility of the Landlord/Property Owner for their individual units. Landlord/Property Owner will collect said fees from their tenant at their discretion.
*Commercial Business and/or landlord who has previously contracted with a Trash Hauler may continue with that service. South Newton Township requests you notify the Township by letter or email as to what type of service you have and with whom by June 4, 2026.
Full service will continue into the new contract unless you want to change. Changes to your account should be made by contacting Southampton Township at: 717-532-9646
Deadline to change your account or request for exemption status is June 4, 2026.
